Meeting update from 6th May 2025

Report of meeting held 6th May 2025

Community police in attendance.

Police report given questions asked and answers given.

Community police are now housed in Johnstone police station.

Correspondence

Sec gave a full report of correspondence received and sent


Matters arising 

Old police station no update available

Browns institute no update available. Awaiting date for public consultation to start.

Renfrew Development Trust

As agreed sec and chair met with chair of RDT. A very positive meeting working together for the community of Renfrew.


Town centre report

Our thanks recorded to the gardeners and officer who planted out the flower planters very much talked about and admired 


Jet cleaning 

We only have one pressure washer to do the streets due to footfall on main st it a Sunday job it’s on going as and when team and machine are available.


Nisa store.

Rubbish is ongoing problem it’s our town centre Nisa do have a back area they could use instead of delivery lorries on pavements Rubbish cadges on pavement at the area asigned to disabled parking


For 3 year we heard that there is a neighbour / landlord dispute. Officer stated that there is an officer dealing with as we did our visit.


Weeding 

Has now started within the area. It will be weeded 3x this year instead of 2


Blocked drains

Site visit to two drains in Glebe st are noted will be done as soon as it’s a question of logistics .

Councillor reports were received from cllr McEwan ,Paterson and McGuire and sent to all community councillors and acknowledged to each cllr.


Planning 

Nothing to report weekly applications sent to the community councillors who are monitoring applications.

Yellow box at inchinnan rd at Bell st. It’s out to be done but as yet has not been done.


A.O.C.B

Flag at Ferry Green.

A discussion took place as to the state of the Flag presently up the flag pole on the green. It’s hanging like a rag. The lack of the Town flag on our Town hall. It be long debated at council chamber the flying of Palestinian flag on council buildings. Sec to write and ask Renfrew Town flag be on our Town Hall.Flag at Ferry Green be renewed.


Bench on the new bridge

Sec read reply to our request for the bench that was spoken about 2 meetings ago. It’s a suicide prevention bench the solar panel tiles light up with much needed contact numbers. It a glimmer of light when someone is in a dark place. Sadly the officer felt there is 

Not the place for bench.After a discussion a site visit to be requested. 


Gala day

Discussion took place as to our prizes for our free Lucky draw on that day.

Two £25 voucher to be got

Under 16s Sprinkes voucher

Adults Aldi voucher.

To have a chance to win a questionair will be filled in and winner picked on the day.

Defib & CPR training @ Many thanks to those who already have given their names. The opportunity to register your intrest at gala day at our stall . Looking at sept / oct time for classes. There is no cost to class 2 hrs of your time could save a life. 


Web pages

Our web page has now had a update. It’s on going work our admin team would ask that as many community groups give us info page.


There is No business advertisements on this web page or Facebook page

Admin have been approaching locals who have posted pictures of our town seeking permission to use photos on Facebook & web page. Thanks to those who have consented.


Data Protection

Minutes Will Not be appearing on web page or Facebook page this it due to them breaching Renfrewshire wide Data protection policy. 

We are allowed to do a monthly report such as this it does not breach data protection.
